Hello! Welcome to Bloom and Beyond! I'm Courtney, and I am so glad you are here! If you had told me years ago that I would be here- writing a blog about menopause, wellness, and midlife transformation- I probably would have laughed. My life once revolved around education. I spent years as a teacher and principal, dedicated to helping students and supporting families. Somewhere along the way, I stopped supporting myself.

Like many women, I poured my energy into everyone else. I was a devoted mom, a hardworking professional, and for a time, a wife. Then life took some unexpected turns. Divorce, raising kids on my own, and the emotional toll of it all left me feeling depleted. Then came menopause- an experience for which I wasn’t fully prepared. The brain fog, exhaustion, aches and pains, and mood swings- it was like I had lost myself in the process of simply surviving.

I searched for answers, but I quickly realized that support for women in this stage of life was scattered and honestly, inadequate. I knew about hot flashes and night sweats. But what about the anxiety, exhaustion, irritability, the restless nights, joint pain, and even the feelings of loneliness and sadness? I started questioning if I was overreacting, if I was depressed, or if this was just normal at this age. Doctors offered hormone therapy, which wasn’t the right fit for me. What frustrated me most was how little we, as women, are taught about what actually happens to our bodies during midlife. So many of us suffer in silence, thinking it’s just stress, aging, or something we have to tough out. The truth is, menopause impacts everything- our metabolism, our mental health, our relationships, and even how we process emotions. Yet, the solutions offered to us are often a one-size-fits-all or they are dismissive. I didn’t want to accept that this was just how things were going to be. I wanted answers, and I wanted to feel better!

I dove into research, earned certifications in health and wellness coaching, holistic menopause coaching, nutrition, yoga, and meditation- all to figure out how I could regain control over my body and mind. What I discovered was life changing. Menopause isn’t the end of anything. It is the beginning of a new chapter- one where we get to redefine our health, happiness, and purpose.

My mission is to help other women do the same. I created Bloom Health and Wellness as a place for women 45+ to find real support through education, community, and holistic wellness. We deserve more than just “getting through” menopause. We deserve to thrive.

Through this blog I will cover menopause and midlife wellness, mental health, nutrition, fitness, and lifestyle medicine. I will be sharing holistic strategies and actionable tips to help you navigate this stage of life with confidence. I will also share stories of my own personal journey- the challenges, struggles, and victories that I have experienced along the way. My hope is that by being open about my own experiences, you will feel seen, supported, and inspired to embrace this stage of life with confidence and resilience.
